1/18/2004 - Referee Classes for the 2004 Spring Season

Each team is required to have two certified referees, at least one of which does centers.  Just as each and every team needs a coach and assistant coach in order for the league to function, so too do they need referees.  The referees are volunteers just like the coaches, no one is paid.  After team breakouts, someone will be calling all the team coaches to let them know if two of their player's parents are certified referees, or signed up for the training.  Those teams that do not have two referees will be asked to send one or two parents to the referee training.  The dates for referee training are:

Sessions for the Regional Referee training class for new referees:

• Session 1:  February  28, Saturday, 8:30am - 5:30pm.
• Session 2:  March 2nd & 4th, Tuesday and Thursday, 6pm - 10:30pm.

Session for the Intermediate (Area) Referee training class for existing Regional referees:

• Session 1:  January 24th, Saturday, 8:30am - 5:15pm.

Referee Review session for all existing referees:

• February 17th or 18th, 6pm to 9pm.  These meeting are designed to update certified Referees on Law and Rules and Regulations changes, review new Region 605 policies, present situational examples with resolutions, update referee references, and issue and exchange referee uniforms. All currently certified Referees are encouraged to attend. The location for these meeting will be supplied as it becomes available.

AYSO Region 605 Referee Schedule  (current season)

This is a copy of the schedule in the referee sign-up books that are at the fields each week. The books at Mallard Creek, Citgo and Nevin are identical. Sign up in any book for games at any field. We will merge the sign-ups and let you know if there is a conflict. If everyone signs up ahead of time in the book, then we won't have to bug you with phone calls during the week!
